There are a couple of different grocery stores in Whistler to shop and they can be a bit more expensive as it is a resort community. If you like, there is a town called Squamish that you will come to on your way up to Whistler, about 45 minutes outside of Whistler, and they do have a Save On Foods which may be better priced. If you are looking to save some money, and do some shopping for your wife who you mentioned is a vegetarian, I would recommend going there. There is a Liquor Store, coffee shops and gas stations in Squamish if you need to stock up on some things!

Whistler has some amazing restaurants for all types of diets that range from casual dining to fine dining. I would actually recommend taking a look at th Whistler Restuarant Guide on our website, as it is a list of all our staffs favorite places to eat. You can see our recommendations at Whistler also has their own brewing company which I highly recommend checking out! Whistler Brewing Company has a restaurant/taphouse in Function Junction, which is about a 7-10 minute drive from Whistler Village, but there are a number of great pubs in the Villages, such as Black's Pub, Dubh Linn Gate Old Irish Pub, Garibaldi Lift Co, and The Brew House where you can get the local beers or specialty beers.

For activities on your day off from skiing, there unfortunately is no hot air ballooning, but there are tons of other things to choose from! If you have done snowmobiling and dog sledding and looking for something new, I would recommend trying Ziptrek, a Whistler Cat Ski Tour, or Snowshoeing. If you are feeling adventurous, there is also the Whistler Olympic Experience where you test out some of the same activities the Olympic Athletes competed in such as the Sliding Centre for trying out bobsleigh, luge and skeleton runs! If you are looking for something more relaxing, Scandinave Spa is one of the best spa's in Whistler with some amazing treatments! You can see some information on this spa at
